Small Group Counseling

What is Group Counseling?

Small group counseling refers to a therapeutic approach in which a mental health professional leads a group of individuals who come together to discuss and work on their psychological and emotional goals. These groups typically consist of about 6 to 10 members and are designed to provide a supportive and interactive environment for participants.

In small group therapy, members share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with each other, and the therapist facilitates discussions, provides guidance, and offers interventions to help participants address their challenges. The group dynamic allows individuals to receive feedback, gain insights from others who may have similar experiences, and develop a sense of belonging and support.

Group Counseling at Triumph

Triumph offers a number of small groups. We specialize in groups for children and young adults. Our groups take place in person. We utilize a curriculum to guide discussion and to keep the group learning and moving. Our groups run for 8 sessions but there is flexibility to extend if necessary. Participants meet with a counselor first to determine appropriateness to the group depending on factors such as number of participants involved, personalities, and counselor availability.  There is a flat rate fee for our small groups that is paid at the time of the session.
